Dr Stokes, ChairmanI have been involved with BARDOC since before our first base opened on Parsons Lane in April 1996, spending many a happy hour putting up shelves, desks and fitting out the building in 3 weeks. I also had the "privilege" of doing the first session at Parsons Lane. Since that first Easter weekend I have been a medical manager then executive board member and latterly non-exec and chair. Watching the organisation grow whilst still providing patient care of the highest quality has been very satisfying.
I am also Bury CCG appraisal and quality lead and Associate Director of GP Education for Health Education North West. I am responsible for the quality monitoring of ooh training in the North West and chair a national group to advise on the ooh education for GP trainees - the weeks pass by very quickly!
Outside of work I enjoy motor sport, walking on the East Lancs moors and watching Blackburn Rovers - well someone has to.
Vicky Riding, Chief ExecutiveVicky began her career with BARDOC in 2002 as the Operations Manager. She progressed through the organisation and successfully became Chief Executive in 2011. Vicky has led the organisation, with the full support of the Board and staff through a period of transformational change.
Vicky remains passionate about patient care and experience and her ambition is to lead BARDOC from being an Out of Hours organisation into that of an Out of Hospital care provider.
Dr Mohammed, Medical DirectorBorn in Bury and attending Broad Oak High School. Dr Mohammed began working for BARDOC in 2001 and was fortunate enough to become Medical Director in 2011. Dr Mohammed also undertakes work as a GP Trainer in Heywood. His other roles include sitting on the GMC Investigation Committee and the he is also the Local Medical Committee Treasurer. He recently stepped down as the GP lead in HMR for Pennine Care Foundation Trust.
Dr Mohammed is married with 3 children and enjoys running and supporting Liverpool Football Club. He would like to remind everyone Liverpool have won the European Cup 5 times.
Dr Bracegirdle, Non Executive DirectorHaving undertaken studies at Manchester University Medical School between 1983 and 1988, Dr Bracegirdle qualified as a General Practitioner in 1995 and continues to work full time in this role. He has been a member of BARDOC since its birth in 1996 and a Director since 1997 and Dr Bracegirdle also works sessions for BARDOC.
Professional interests include medical education at all levels, coupled with leadership and management and hobbies include “off-road” driving and archery, but not at the same time.
Dr Chauhan, Non Executive Director of Clinical Governance & RiskDr. Chauhan is passionate about improving health, education and social care services by driving innovation, improving efficiency and creating opportunities for the local communities. His main areas of expertise are clinical and corporate governance, innovative business development by stakeholder engagement.
Dr. Chauhan is a general practitioner and elected councillor in North West. He has served as a deputy chair of Health and wellbeing board in Oldham.
He is currently Non-Executive Director for BARDOC and chairs the Governance Committee. He is on the board of governors of local schools in Oldham.
Dr Chauhan represents United Kingdom on the Committee of region in European Union where he is involved in policy making and ensuring Britian's view is well represented.
He is currently Chair of Oldham care and support. He is leading the organisation to move ethical care agenda forward with innovative ways of working. He is leading several community projects in Oldham to empower local communities’ particularly underprivileged sections of the local communities.
He is actively involved in charity work with save the children and safe network.
Dr Mistry, Non Executive DirectorDr Mistry is a full time GP Partner at Heaton Medical Centre in Bolton. He is also a GP trainer and was appointed as a Non-Executive Director for BARDOC in July 2014 following BARDOC becoming the stability partner for Bolton CCG for providing out of hours service.
MR KEVIN O’BRIEN, FCA, DIRECTOR OF FINANCEI have been involved in BARDOC since the opening in 1996, for many years as the company’s external accountant, auditor and tax adviser. Recently I joined BARDOC on a permanent basis as the in-house Finance Director and Head of Business Services. I am a qualified chartered accountant and have been involved in tendering for the existing contracts BARDOC holds and future new contracts that are coming on stream.
Kevin specialises in the medical profession, including GPs, Consultants and out of hours providers and NHS contract tendering.
My hobbies include cycling, travel, theatre and attending sporting events.
